Trump warns Iran that if it attacks the US, it will face a response “unlike anything seen before”

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has stated that if Iran were to attack the United States in any way, it would face a US military response “at levels never seen before.” In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump asserted that the United States has had nothing to do with the attack on Iran and expressed confidence in the ability to resolve the conflict. “We can easily reach an agreement between Iran and Israel and put an end to this bloody conflict,” he added.

Trump was responding to a threat made on Saturday by the Iranian government, which claimed it would attack targets in the US, the UK, or France in the Middle East if these countries assisted Israel in repelling their missiles. In this regard, Trump stated in his message that he had nothing to do with the Israeli attack on Iran.

He also noted that Israel and Iran could “easily reach an agreement and end this bloody conflict.” He did not clarify whether he was referring to any agreement regarding the Iranian nuclear program. Israel fears that Iran is attempting to acquire atomic weapons and asserts it will not allow it. In fact, the primary objective of the Israeli bombings on Thursday, when the exchange of attacks began, was Iranian nuclear facilities, as well as the scientists managing the program—nine of whom were killed—and members of the military leadership.

Iran and the US were scheduled to meet this Sunday in Oman, the fifth meeting, to negotiate the Iranian nuclear program, but it was canceled on Saturday due to the Israeli attacks. However, Washington stated yesterday that it remains “committed” to nuclear talks. “Although there will be no meeting on Sunday, we remain committed to the talks and hope the Iranians will sit down at the table soon,” a senior Administration official indicated in a statement.
