The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested four radical fans of Unió Esportiva Sant Andreu for throwing stones at the bus of Rayo Majadahonda following the match between both football teams on May 18 in Barcelona, with no injuries reported.
According to a statement from the Generalitat Police on Tuesday, the four detainees are accused of crimes related to public disorder and damages against road safety for creating a serious risk to traffic. Additionally, the four arrested have been administratively reported under the law against violence, racism, xenophobia, and intolerance in sports. Furthermore, a fifth person is under investigation for these events.
The incidents occurred on May 18 at the end of the match between both clubs, when a violent radical group of local fans threw several hard objects at the Rayo Majadahonda bus, resulting in broken windows and damages estimated at around 3,000 euros. At the time of the object throwing, players and coaches from the visiting team were inside the bus.
The two teams had previously played a match corresponding to the second leg of the first round of the promotion playoff to the 1st RFEF at the Narcís Sala stadium in Barcelona, where Unió Esportiva Sant Andreu plays. After an investigation was opened by the Mossos to determine the authorship of these disturbances, the police arrested four men aged between 23 and 34 on June 4. The investigation remains open, and further arrests are not ruled out.
