MotoGP: Marc Márquez Wins the Dutch GP | The Ducati Rider is Close to Securing His Seventh Title in Premier Motorcycle Racing

Spanish rider Marc Márquez (Ducati) demonstrated his dominance in MotoGP once again this Sunday with a commanding victory at the Dutch Grand Prix, held at the Assen circuit. The Ducati rider not only won the main race but also clinched the sprint race on Saturday, marking his sixth double win of the season. With this result, Márquez solidifies his lead in the championship and is firmly on the path toward his seventh world title in the premier category.

This Sunday’s race was a display of absolute control by #93, who took the lead from the start and never let it go. Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) was the only one who managed to stay relatively close, but without any real chance of challenging for the victory. Italian Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati) started strong but lost pace as the laps progressed, yielding second place to Bezzecchi and settling for the third step of the podium.

The day was marked by the crash of Álex Márquez (Gresini Racing) on the sixth lap, right as he battled for fourth position with Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM). The Gresini rider lost control of his bike and had to retire, adding another setback in a turbulent season.

His brother Marc, on the other hand, took advantage of the situation to further extend his lead in the overall standings: he now leads by 68 points over Álex and 126 over Bagnaia, a difference that amounts to more than three complete Grand Prix races.

In the mid-field, Maverick Viñales (Tech3 Gasgas) finished fifth after being stuck for a good part of the race behind the Ducatis of the VR46 team. Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46) came in sixth, followed by Franco Morbidelli (VR46), who was once again penalized with a long lap for cutting the final corner while battling for position with his teammate.

Raúl Fernández (Trackhouse Racing) finished eighth, being the second-best Aprilia rider, while Enea Bastianini (Tech3 Gasgas) and Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) completed the top ten. The Frenchman once again struggled with the technical limitations of his Yamaha and lost positions as the race progressed.

The weekend in Assen was marked by a high number of crashes. In addition to Álex Márquez, Fermín Aldeguer (Gresini), Joan Mir (Honda) —who nearly collided with Aldeguer during the incident—, Ai Ogura (Trackhouse Racing), and Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia) also went down.
