The National Police of Valencia has discovered the body of the 35-year-old man who had been missing since Sunday after disappearing while swimming in the Turia River, in a stretch between the municipalities of Paterna and Manises, in an area known as the Assut de la Séquia Tormos.
The report of the young man’s disappearance was received yesterday, Sunday, at 5:26 PM by the firefighters, and since then, several units have been dispatched to the area to search for him.
Specifically, the Consortium mobilized a firefighting unit from Paterna, the sergeant, officer, and forest coordinator of the Consortium, rescuers from GERA with the V-990 helicopter of the Consortium with a doctor, and a unit of forest firefighters from GVA.
Also participating were divers from the Valencia City Hall Fire Department and personnel from the National Police and Local Police with resources such as a drone.
The operation was suspended at night due to poor visibility conditions, and the search has resumed this morning.
Search efforts have resumed this morning, and at the location where he was last seen, there were two command units and two firefighters conducting surface search operations in support of the National Police divers, according to the Consortium of Firefighters.
