About the play

Winner of the 2023 New York United Solo festival for best International show, The Imitator is a journey from Julián Fontalvo’s childhood where he discovers his passion for music to New York and Europe, overcoming obstacles to pursue his dreams.

Julián Fontalvo presents several characters who accompany him on his journey and imitates 70 international artists such as Sting, Bob Marley, David Bowie, Andrea Bocelli, Edith Piaf, Amy Winehouse, and Tina Turner, among others, mimicking the voices of songs that are part of his story. The songs, woven into the narration, inspire a personal journey for each spectator, who will also recreate the soundtrack of their life.
