The Las Ventas Plaza Announces Six Evening Events in August

The company Plaza 1, manager of the Las Ventas bullring, has finalized the schedules for the festivities that will take place in Madrid during August. Specifically, there will be two bullfights, two shows of horseback bullfighting, and two novice bullfights with picadors, all held in the evening starting at 9:00 PM. Moreover, except for the traditional bullfight on August 15, the day of the Virgin of La Paloma, all events will take place on Thursdays, a day the company has chosen considering the departure of many Madrilenians from the city during summer weekends.

On another note, “to encourage attendance and promote bullfighting among younger audiences,” the company has decided that children under 14 years old, accompanied by an adult, will have free entry to the stands of Las Ventas for any of the six scheduled events.

The schedules are as follows:

Thursday, July 31. Bullfight. Rubén Pinar, Rafael Cerro, and Raúl Rivera, who is confirming the alternative (bulls from Juan Luis Fraile).

Thursday, August 7. Novice bullfight. Cid de María, El Mella, and Ignacio Candelas (the last two are making their debut in Madrid), calves from Los Maños.

Thursday, August 14. Novice bullfight. Álvaro Seseña, Valentín Hoyos, and David López (debut), calves from Aurelio Hernando.

Friday, August 15. Virgin of La Paloma Bullfight. Lama de Góngora, who is confirming the alternative, Rafa Serna, and José Fernando Molina (bulls from El Torero).

Thursday, August 21. Horseback bullfighting show. João Moura Caetano (from Portugal), Emiliano Gamero (from Mexico), Sergio Domínguez, Paco Velásquez (from Portugal), Ferrer Martín, and Adrián Venegas (the last two will confirm their alternative), bulls from Fermín Bohórquez.

Thursday, August 28. Horseback bullfighting show. Roberto Armendáriz, Iván Magro, Andrés Romero, and the Portuguese Ana Rita, Filipe Gonçalves, and Luís Rouxinol Jr. (the last two will confirm their alternative), bulls from Fermín Bohórquez.
