As announced a few months ago, Marta Flich has left Everything is a Lie, a show she has presented alongside Risto Mejide since its inception in January 2019. Mediaset has already announced who will be her replacement at the helm of Cuatro’s afternoon program: Laila Jiménez.
The Barcelona journalist will join the show as its new co-presenter next Monday, July 7, as announced by Mediaset in a statement. Until now, Jiménez was presenting Telecinco News: The Morning.
With over 20 years of experience in news broadcasting, Laila Jiménez, honored with a Silver Antenna in 2010, will embark on a new chapter in her career hosting a current affairs program alongside Risto Mejide or Pablo González Batista, who is currently in charge of the summer edition of Everything is a Lie.
Marta Flich announced in April that she would be leaving the show. “I would love to say where I’m going, but I don’t know,” the presenter candidly shared live as she explained her decision, and she took the opportunity to seek job offers and explore what career possibilities life had in store for her.
The Cuatro show is more established than ever. In this seventh season, its average audience share is 6.9%, the highest in its history, well above the 3.6% of its first season and the 5% of the second.
